However, due to a compatibility issue with Microsoft Dynamics Retail
Management System, the release of Windows XP Service Pack 3 was delayed.
A feature set overview has been posted by Microsoft and details new features
available separately as standalone updates to Windows XP, as well as features
backported from Windows Vista, such as black hole router detection, Network
Access Protection, and Windows Imaging Component. Microsoft is reporting that
over 1,000 fixes have been packed into SP3 along with some performance
improvements as well. Internet Explorer 7 is not included as part of SP3.

With the release of SP3, retail and OEM versions of Windows XP with service
pack 3 slipstreamed into them can be installed and run with full functionality
for 30 days without a product key, after which time the user will be prompted
to enter a valid key and activate the installation. Volume license versions
still require entering a product key.

Microsoft noted SP3 can be installed on systems with Internet Explorer version
6 as well as version 7; and similarly Windows Media Player 9 Series or Windows
Media Player versions 10 or 11. Although service packs have, until now,
been cumulative, installing Windows XP Service Pack 3 requires that the PC must
at least be running Windows XP with Service Pack 1 installed. However, it is
possible to slipstream SP3 into the Windows XP setup files at any service pack
level including the original RTM version without any errors or issues.
Slipstreaming into Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 is not supported.
SP3 does contain operating system component updates for Windows XP Media Center
Edition and for Windows XP Tablet PC Edition including security updates for .NET
Framework versions 1.0 and 1.1 which are included in these Windows XP SKUs.
However it does not include update rollups for the Windows Media Center app. in
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. It also omits Windows Media Player 10
security updates although Windows Media Player 10 is included in Windows XP
Media Center Edition 2005.

There are a total of 1,073 fixes in Service Pack 3.

The Service Pack 3 RTM is integrated by Microsoft itself.

Opera 9.50 maintains the program’s tradition of striving for the fastest, smallest, and most full-featured browser available. The small interface lets you look at headlines from selected news sources called Klips. The program includes a few preloaded Klips, and you can download hundreds more from the publisher’s Web site. If you’re interested in a particular news item, just click the headline to open the story in a browser window. When you’re done, you can either quit the program or minimize it to the taskbar for easy access. You can configure the colors and appearance of KlipFolio and create Klips for any newsfeed–something that in previous versions required a trip to the publisher’s Web site. Some may find the interface too small, but Serence KlipFolio ought to satisfy most news hounds.

KMPlayer demands attention

Despite lacking a Help file, KMPlayer is one of the most powerful freeware video players we’ve seen. It includes a vast array of video- and audio-capturing options, as well as skins, a plethora of playback controls and tweaks, and broad DVD support.

You’ll have to learn the ropes yourself, perhaps a hindrance to newcomers. But if you’re familiar with where things ought to be in programs, and willing to patiently wait for mouse-over labels to pop up and then click on them for the actual menus, KMPlayer has the potential to be immensely rewarding. It supports all major file formats, and all of the minor and obscure ones we tested. It did have problems with the RealPlayer 11’s video capture IVR format, but not much else.

Advanced options include frame capture and a frame-forward feature, which is actually a fractional Play button, but the difference is negligible. The Pause button is a fast responder, too. Combined with streaming TV and HDTV compatibility, playlists, and the ability to select which codec is used on a video-by-video basis, and you get a media player that demands attention.

WinAmp 5.3 took some long-needed steps to improve the old-school media player, with support for AAC encoding, CD burning, and a robust file-management system.

We liked that clicking on an artist’s name will get you related headlines and Web sites in a separate pane. There’s also Podcast support, device synchronization that lets you tweak the sync list while in progress, and continued support for AOL’s excellent Shoutcast.

If you want MP3 encoding and full-speed CD burning, you have to shell out $19.95 for the Pro version. However, there are other problems. Automatic album art download support is spotty at best.

WinAmp 5.54 is no iTunes killer–not yet. It has become, however, a strong alternative and should be of interest to those looking for something with more meat on its bones. Llama meat, that is.

after downloadin, go ahead and unrar. U will get a CD image. USe a isobuster or Deamon Tools to load the cd image. It will auto run and ask for the key. Now disconnect form the internet.
Right click on ur virtual CD drive (where u have loaded the CD image)
Go to the crack and get the crack, cut and paste and continue wid the installation
after the installation is complete it will ask u to register the product and will give 3 options for it. Select the option that says “Activate using a phone”
